Mt. Hood Brewing Co.’s New Portland Location NOW OPEN!

After a few more days of pizza trials and a soft open for friends and family, Mt. Hood Brewing Co. Tilikum Station is open to the public starting as of Saturday, July 7th. The restaurant is located at 401 SE Caruthers Street, on the orange line at the east end of Tilikum Crossing. Our neighbors include OMSI, Portland Opera, and the Oregon Rail Heritage Center.

The restaurant seats about twenty, with plenty of additional seating in the adjacent train car and caboose. All three seating areas are air-conditioned and family friendly. Guests are invited to order at the counter in the restaurant before finding a table. Food orders will be delivered by staff.

The menu consists mainly of wood-fired pizzas, with a few “Not Pizza” items to round it out as well as spun-to-order ice cream for dessert. Eight Mt. Hood Brewing Co. ales are on tap. Other beverages are available as well.

Chefs Jason Stoller Smith and Chris Flanagan craft the pizzas with respect to Neapolitan tradition using Northwest grown wheat flour & is slowly fermented. The wood-fired oven is kept between 750-850° for a chewy crust with a touch of crunch. Alternately, gluten-free crust is available as well. Pizzas range from the traditional, like Margherita and Pepperoni, to specialties that change with the seasons. The Alpine pays tribute to our Mt. Hood roots with applewood bacon, gruyere, mascarpone, and brussel sprouts. The North End, in homage to the Portland Timbers, is topped with pesto, zucchini, green olives, goat cheese, parmesan, and arugula.

Special to this menu are a trio of premium Matiz seafood items from Spain – sardines, octopus, and mussels – wild-caught in the waters of Spain & packaged in tin to preserve flavor & texture. Spain has a long tradition of carefully preserving shellfish and other seafood in cans. In fact, the canned version is often seen as even more exquisite than freshly cooked seafood.

Established in 1991, Mt. Hood Brewing Co. is one of Oregon’s original craft breweries. Eight Mt. Hood Brewing ales are on tap including a Tilikum exclusive, the new Mt. Hood Lager, a perfect pizza beer! Delicate German pilsner & a touch of spelt malt produce a light, yet pleasantly smooth body to lift the noble-born but NW grown Mt. Hood hop variety forward with its classic, spicy character. The other seven taps are a well-rounded selection of pales, IPAs, dark beers, and a rotating seasonal. A small selection of wine, handcrafted cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages are also available.

Mt. Hood Brewing Co. Tilikum Station is open Sundays – Thursdays from 11:00am to 9:00pm and Fridays & Saturdays 11:00am to 10:00pm. The restaurant has indoor seating in the restaurant and caboose, and open-air seating in a green train car. While not currently available, we look forward to offering online ordering for to go orders in the near future.

We look forward to seeing you soon at Mt. Hood Brewing Co.’s new Portland location!
